Better safe than sorry

"No one should ever have an accident while working in our plant. We expect everyone to leave our premises just as healthy as when they arrived", states Norbert Gerischer, occupational health and safety engineer. Occupational health and safety is a high priority at the Power Plant Group Ingolstadt/Irsching. The success can already be seen at the plant gate. In order to heighten safety awareness on a daily basis, the KGI has developed its own safety motto complete with logo: We stay safe if we remain consistent! In order to ensure that no accident situations develop during major repair measures such as inspections, the power plant has its own safety video which must be viewed by each new power plant employee before he or she is allowed on the premises unescorted. During this training the new employee learns which areas in the power plant can only be entered with the appropriate protective gear and which warning signs must be observed. For it is true: Better safe than sorry.
